Thank you for checking out this extremely amateurish tool! It's an attempt to spotlight a kind of madness that's spread in recent years: awful customer service, broken portals and the relentless (and often profitable!) friction baked into everyday tasks.
These ordeals add up. They steal our time and our sanity, and reinforce the status quo.
This is an attempt to make that friction visible.
I invite you to log your own experiences (click "Log Incident" in the upper right) and browse others (the Dashboard). Under each entry, you'll find "The Bigger Picture," which offers some context about the kind of problem you've encountered. And don't skip the part about what you'd rather be doing with your time. I want to document the real toll of these hassles.
There's also a complaint-letter generator you can try after logging an incident.
My hope is to build a record of these everyday breakdowns—not just to vent, but to understand where things go wrong, and how they might be improved.
Finally, I'm writing a book about this stuff and would love to hear from you. Find me at chriscolin.com.
